Hi, I'm Molly Marie

Suffice it to say, when two besties are floating down the creek on a blazing hot July day drinking adult seltzers, a boutique stole business emerges.  Hand of the Spirit is the result of my painful journey through relationships with churches seeking a way to best live out my life with the Holy Trinity in a fractured world, and my bestie wanting affordable, unique stoles.  It hasn't been easy and through the hurt and pain of humans playing God, it has always come back to the sustainability of my faith through the grace of my loving God.  When the tears dry and the heaving of my chest stops, I retreat into prayer and creativity.  I am safe there.  That is the space where I create my stoles.

My stoles are borne of visions and feelings - and random materials and mediums - handcrafted with love, devotion, and respect for the sanctity of those who would choose to wear them in service to God.  I am not a professional seamstress, just cobbling things together to give birth to something tangible that expresses my love and faith.  Every effort is made to source materials as socially and ecologically as possible.

I am retired from corporate life and live in central Ohio with my partner - a fun, spirited, kind woman who supports me in every way.  We have three grown daughters with fab husbands and a smattering of grandkids.  Life is good.

Hand of the Spirit is just me with a sewing machine, cutting machine, ironing board and stacks of material.  Our formal living room was sacrificed for my "factory" and I share the space with our dog, Bailey, and the occasional flyby of our budgie, Zen.  When not cranking out stoles, I love doing anything outdoors - but mostly sailing...  If I can't be outside, give me a good book or let me go wild cooking.

It is with deep love and affection I dedicate this endeavor to my bestie, Sigrid, who birthed the idea for the business and has nudged me along.  On top of that, she is a good source of information for all my God questions.  Thanks, God.
